August Extras

Steve has sent over 600 Skye records for August including new 10km squares for Spergularia rubra (Sand Spurrey) and Hypericum tetrapterum (Square-stalked St John’s-wort) and new tetrad records for Osmunda regalis (Royal Fern) and Lycopodium clavatum (Stag’s-horn Clubmoss).

Jeanette has sent details of the Pseudorchis albida (Small-white Orchid) she and Dave found in the Brochel area of Raasay in July.

Deirdre has been checking Water-cress and finding two-rows of seeds in the fruit, making it Nasturtium officinale rather than Nasturtium microphyllum (Narrow-fruited Water-cress).

Yesterday R and I had a ride in the seaplane from Broadford Airstrip. The east end of the runway had large numbers of Centaurium erythraea (Common Centaury). This is very close to where Steve spotted some a couple of years ago.

and I was able to get images of many of the islands I have visited in the past few years.
