More Ophioglossum azoricum on Skye

Because I wasn’t sure of the species I sent a specimen of Ophioglossum from Dun Scaith to  Markus Ruhsam at RBGE for DNA analysis.  He found it to be O. azoricum – the second site for Skye, both found this year.  A specimen from the original site collected a few weeks earlier was also analysed and found, as expected, to be O. azoricum.

Dwarf O. vulgatum can be very difficult to distinguish from O. azoricum morphologically.
